LA THEME PARKS: DISNEYLAND, CA ADVENTURE, & UNIVERSAL STUDIOS
We all know one of the main attractions people come to L.A. is for Disneyland. Well, it's not quite in the heart of Los Angeles but more like adjacent in Anaheim. It's about a 45 minute drive from my place, so it isn't too far out to get there!
WHAT HAPPENS IN VEGAS...GETS POSTED HERE
For some months out of the year, I have the luxury of living in a new US city for a few months at a time because of work. One of those cities I got to live in was Las Vegas...Downtown Las Vegas to be exact.
GRAND CANYON WEST
If you live in Los Angeles (or even if you are visiting Las Vegas), the quickest way to visit the Grand Canyon would be via Grand Canyon West. If you want to have a taste of what the Grand Canyon can offer, the western side of the canyon is a great launch pad location.
THE LANTERN FLOATING FESTIVAL IN OAHU
The Lantern Floating Festival Hawaii is an emotional revelation only experienced on Memorial Day in Waikiki, specifically at Ala Moana Beach Park.
WHEN YOU HAVE A STOPOVER IN OAHU...
So, before my sister got married, we would do year end holiday trips with each other. In the year of 2014, I made plans with her to go all the way to Australia! And luckily with the airline routing rules back then, we were allowed one stopover.
EATING MY WAY THROUGH VANCOUVER
I was in Vancouver over the weekend, and the only objective I had was to eat as much as I can while I was there. Vancouver is known for a few things, which I’ll discuss below, but my main objective was to check off the remaining restaurants I had to eat on the List.
DEATH VALLEY VS. JOSHUA TREE: WHICH IS BETTER?
When I think of National Parks in California, Death Valley and Joshua Tree come into mind. Both are famous, but they should not be treated the same. In this blog post, I’ll share the advantages of each National Park and what they have to offer.
THINGS TO SEE & DO IN SAN ANTONIO
When you think of San Antonio, you think of the Alamo. But I think the highlight of San Antonio is the Riverwalk. You get the sense you’re not in Texas when you walk along the river, with all those Spanish colonial buildings and jungle-like trees shadowing the walkways.
WHAT IT'S LIKE DURING LGBT PRIDE
I can probably say without much repercussion that San Francisco holds the largest and most widely known LGBT pride festival in the world. There is already so much to do in San Francisco, adding in a festival such as this one is sensory overload.
MY BIRTHDAY WEEKEND IN MAUI
Oh man, Maui was great. Where do I start? First off, this was a trip planned by my boyfriend. So I had no idea what would happen other than that there was an itinerary set in motion once we land down in Maui.
5 ICONIC THINGS TO DO IN THE FRENCH QUARTER
The French Quarter is the first thing that pops into people's minds when you talk about New Orleans. It's the oldest section in the city and is actually built over a swamp. Hence, the flooding that can easily occur in this city when it rains since the water has nowhere to go.
HOW I DID MARDI GRAS, BASICALLY SOBER
So when you think of Mardi Gras, you obviously think of parades, boob flashing, beads being thrown around, random street brawls, or drunken people everywhere.
WHEN YOU'RE LIVING IN CHICAGO FOR A FEW MONTHS
As I had mentioned in other blog posts, I used to live in major cities for months at a time for work. Chicago was one of them.
PICKING A MUSEUM IN NEW YORK
One of the things New York is known for is their museums. So how do you choose between all of them? Well, let me help you with that.
MY "MISSION" TRAILS
So, as part of my yearly birthday tradition, I would pick an activity/site for my college friends and I to do (or go to). The year of 2013, I decided to check off one of the 1,000 sites by going to at least one of the missions recommended in the state of California.
A GUIDE TO THE SOUTH RIM OF THE GRAND CANYON
From what I remember as a kid, the Grand Canyon was cool but the journey to get there was not so pleasant. Now, as an adult, I'm able to explore it with more appreciation and understanding of what it has to offer.
BATTLE OF THE NEW YORK DELI'S
Now I'm sure there are tons of deli's in New York that everyone considers their favorite. However, based on the List, there are only three that I should consider.
IN DALLAS DURING HURRICANE HARVEY
I did a quick jaunt over to Dallas this weekend and didn't realize that Hurricane Harvey would be wreaking havoc just a few hours away. Luckily, the only signs of the hurricane we saw came from 30 minutes of heavy rain during Sunday afternoon.
SAN JUAN ISLANDS
So did you know that it takes 3 hours each way to go from Seattle to San Juan Island on the Washington State Ferry? Well, it does. So I suggest you bring lots of reading materials or jam pack your Ipad with movies and shows to watch.
RAINY DAY AT THE MUSEUM
With no traveling partner to hinder me, I tried to walk around the city as much as possible so that I can experience the city in the path of a local.
